Italian designer Paolo Cappello has created Louis, an “analogical speaker” that can make your digital tunes sound analogue. Created for Newblack, the wooden trumpet form apparently allows the speaker to mimic the warm, vintage sound found on vinyl records.
The speaker is completely free of electronic components and uses the shape of the smartphone dock on top to project your digital music through the large, trumpet-like opening.
The beechwood is available in natural, yellow or anthracite finishes and the accompanying app automatically plays music when you put a phone in the slot. It displays an image of a tube on the screen too, which is a cute touch. However, keep it away from real audio snobs or feel the wrath.
