In the latest team-up between #vinyloftheday and ZIGGY, we dig our way into DJ Reiki's record collection to find out just what keeps her wax on. Besides sharing her best-loved records, she also shares her fondness for record shopping and collecting. "The thing I love about record shopping," says she, "is that you get to bring home with you not just the vinyl itself, but a piece of music and the experience." So as Reiki takes us through her favourite Boards of Canada and Fever Ray records, we also get the stories behind each vinyl acquisition. There's the time she discovered a record of West Coast breaks in the middle of the army market, and another of her embarking on a quest to find uncover "Original Nutta". Embracing each discovery, Reiki also tells us, "I find vinyl is still relevant. Unlike downloading mp3s, you get to interact with store owners and people. With vinyl, you go to a physical shop and get yourself an experience." Watch the interview below and read all about it in ZIGGY's November issue.
